Marinelli forge - Malè
Inside the forge one finds the great hammer, dated 1834, and the stone hood about 7 meters above the double forge. Anvils, hammers, pincers, a tank for tempera and a sample of instruments forged here give evidence of the different phases of production.
Old works for the forging of iron artefacts, dating from the eighteenth century operating until a few years ago. Today, named after Vulcan god of fire, it still operates in a demonstration and educational capacity thanks to the Stelvio National Park. Still visible are the external structures for collecting water from the Rabbiés stream, partly buried and partly supported by wooden beams and stone pillars. Partly buried at a short distance from the forge, is the hydraulic pump or "bót de l’òra" that powers the forge. Inside one finds the great hammer, dated 1834, and the stone hood about 7 meters above the double forge.
