Grazioli or "de la béga" house - Strombiano
The house shows the evolution of peasant life over the last two centuries
The house, at the centre of the village, shows the evolution of peasant life over at least the last two centuries. Lived in until 1991, it was purchased by the municipality of Peio in 1998 to be used for museum purposes. Thanks to the Linum Association who worked on the restoration and now manages it, it is open for small group tours. Inside, over three floors and the attic, there is a room with a wood-fired cooker, two kitchens with open fireplaces, bread ovens and the "stua" with a tiled stove. Furniture and furnishings are original features of the house. There are also a 1922 school report, the dresses and the memories of the last lodger Maria Grazioli, named “La Bega”. The roof shingles (scàndole) were made in the old-fashioned way.
