By Andrea Nastri

One hundred years have passed since the publication of the Manifesto of Futurist Architecture by Sant'Elia on the 11th July 1914. The aim of the volume “A hundred years of futurist architecture” is to analyse the different influences of the Manifesto and of Futurism on the contemporary architecture. If we compare the Futurist ideas, which can be found in texts, drawings, paintings, and sculptures, with the contemporary architecture, we can detect many similarities in these two moments, which are far apart in time but have common attitudes.
