A Christmas Carol

Getting closer to Christmas, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, is a one-singer opera by composer Iain Bell which was performed with great success for the first time in 2014 at the Houston Grand Opera.

The production will be an ‘enlarged’ version of the staging seen at Welsh National Opera in December 2015, directed by Polly Graham. Mark Lebrocq will reprise his role as narrator with James Southall conducting.

It depicts love as strength of feelings, and affection for our neighbour as an essential element for a sound society; it proves an effective and urgent appeal to humanity.
