A Venetian painter of the eighteenth century in Trento: Francesco Fontebasso

Cultural exhibitions and events , Guided tour - suitable for adults , university students , scholars

The meeting is dedicated to one of the protagonists of the Venetian painting in the eighteenth century in Trentino: Francesco Fontebasso (Venice, 1707-1769).

Visitors will be accompanied during the guided tour to the art gallery of the Diocesan Museum - where there's an important collection of works by this painter - and to the nearby Church of the Annunziata, which Fontebasso decorated between 1736 and 1737.

Fontebasso's paintings in this church - carried out during his first stay in Trentino - represent an important stage in his career and an exemplar of the eighteenth-century painting in Trento, even though it was partly damaged by a bombing in 1944.
