Africa and Europe embrace

Music

BALLAKÉ SISSOKO, VINCENT SÉGAL

Ballaké Sissoko (who is also well-known for his work with Toumani Diabaté, Rokia Traoré and Ludovico Einaudi) is from Mali and plays the kora, traditional instrument of the griots, storyteller musicians from Western Africa; Vincent Ségal is French and plays one of the symbols of European classical tradition, the cello. The strings of both instruments interweave to create a seductive alchemy of sounds, the expression of a heartfelt embrace between different cultures, between Africa and Europe.
