Ballets British Columbia@InDanza

A bold style and a repertoire that includes the leading authors of the world scene of the twentieth and twenty-first century with an eye to the Canadian scene. Here is a summary of the Ballet British Columbia, a company founded in 1986 in Vancouver and directed for ten years by Emily Molnar, former dancer of the National Ballet of Canada and the German Ballett Frankfurt by William Forsythe, from next year called to lead, in Europe, the Nederlands Dans Theater. Defined by Dance Magazine as "physically rigorous, dramatically solid and truly contemporary", the Ballet British Columbia has conquered the whole world in a very short time. The brilliant director's style can also be seen in the composition of the programmes, where the 'female' vein often takes over. In the triptych on stage in Trento, three female choreographers - the Israeli Sharon Eyal, the American Aszure Barton and the Canadian Crystal Pite, former Molnar's colleague at the Ballet Frankfurt - sign a program that transcends from the techno rhythms performed in sync (Bedroom Folk by Eyal) to the intense lyricism of a dance conducted under a symbolic snowfall on the cello by Yo-Yo Ma intent on performing two very famous Brahms Sonatas (Solo Echo by Pite). Then he ends up in the world of busking, the world of street artists, re-proposed in a key of pure entertainment with a melancholic vein by the always surprising Aszure Barton
