Extraordinary fusions for violin and cello

Matthias Bartolomey plays a 1727 David Tecchler on cello, Klemens Bittmann an 1817 Josephus Pauli on violin and a 2004 Markus Kirchmayr on mandola. Both see music as a bridge between different genres, experiments in stylistic fusion and space in which to create connections. In their hands, classical music is open to the influences of rock, jazz and folk, contributing to a repertoire nourished by the present and the past. This is a synthesis that is also the result of rigorous training with tours in Europe and further afield, performances at major festivals as well as prestigious awards, all of which have taken shape in their works - including “Neubau” - which will also feature in their concert at the Sounds of the Dolomites.
