Crossing borders with journalism
Five years after the birth of the European Data Journalism Network, the network of 31 European newspapers coordinated by OBC Transeuropa, a reflection on transnational journalism

On the occasion of the five-year anniversary of the European Data Journalism Network -a network of 31 European newspapers coordinated by OBC Transeuropa-we reflect on this and other particularly interesting experiences of transnational journalism, starting with the added value they bring and the challenges they encounter.
Adopting new perspectives, learning about what is happening abroad and what affects us, discovering links, similarities and differences with other territories, giving voice to those who live there.
These are some of the most important functions of journalism, and they lie at the heart of some journalistic experiences that bet precisely on building transnational networks, publishing content in many different languages, translating and circulating stories, news and ideas across borders, and linking the local and European dimensions.
