Denialism. The murderers of memory
A conversation between Arnaldo Loner, lawyer and bibliophile, and Fabrizio Franchi, journalist
The memory of the horror of the Holocaust and the fight against oblivion have become a real mission for the lawyer, bibliophile and historian of Nazism Arnaldo Loner, former defender of civil action for the City of Bolzano in the trial against Michael Seifert, the "Beast" of the Lager of Bolzano.
Preserving and transmitting memory, fighting the virus of denial and revisionism are a moral duty towards those who suffered so many atrocities; at the same time it's a necessary defense against the resurgence of dangerous ghosts of the past.
On 24 October - at the meeting organized by the Library of the Museo storico del Trentino Foundation, as part of the cycle "Lib(e)ri dialoghi" ("Free dialogues"),
organized by the Library of the Foundation Museo storico del Trentino as part of the cycle "Lib(e)ri dialoghi", Lawyer Loner, will talk with journalist Fabrizio Franchi about the “assassini della memoria” ("The murderers of memory").
The conversation will be inspired in particular by the book Educare all'odio: l'antisemitismo nazista in tre libri per ragazzi (Hate education: Nazi anti-Semitism in three books for children), edited by Ivano Palmieri and published by Cierre in 2018. A sort of "trilogy of hatred", brought to light by Loner himself, on which it is very useful to reflect, to keep alive the memory and the truth of the darkest times of the last century.
