Fiorinda

A weekend to celebrate Spring and the apple orchards of Val di Non. A coloured display of culture, gourmet cuisine and fruit farming which make unique the valley of the DOP apple (i.e. apple certified “Di Origine Controllata”, that is "Protected Designation of Origin") with a special care for the environment and the family!

During April everything changes in Val di Non - Trentino. Spring is in the air and the area seems to shout for joy: a joy which is shown with a multitude of white buds that, as if by magic, transform the entire profile of the valley in an unlimited wedding veil. It is the Spring of the apple trees of Val di Non, one of the most suggestive natural phenomenon of Trentino. An irrepressible joy which infects the inhabitants themselves of the valley. This is how "Fiorinda" is born, an event that joins together the floral explosion of Val di Non with the cheerfulness of its people for the arrival of Spring.

"Fiorinda" celebrates its third year and every time it is more beautiful and rich of initiatives. In Mollaro (in the municipality of Predaia) don’t you miss the dates which have always checked people’s great interest: gourmet cuisine stands, nursery gardening market, walks and tastings curated by the association "Strada della Mela della Val di Non". Furthermore, there will also be a lot of news with which the Pro Loco (local tiurist office) of Taio wants to astonish its guests.
Surely the children will be the first to be enthusiastic fot the celebration: they will ride horses along the apple orchards, drive in a carriage or cycling with the "Scuola di Ciclismo Fuoristrada Val di Non e Sole". "Fairy Fiorinda" will greet every child hand-in-hand and go with the smallest ones along a special route in the wood among dwarves and sprites.
But the real news of this year will be "Mattoncini in Fiore" ("Blooming Bricks"), a great event dedicated to the LEGO world with special playing areas, laboratories for families and, just for Trentino, the preview of "LEGO ART".

Naturally, the apple will be the main character of the party: not only because the greatest part of the initiatives will be developed through the blooming apple orchards, but also because of the special collaboration with "Melinda". The consortium of the DOP apple of Val di Non will open its doors of MondoMelinda's production rooms to people and will do something more! Special guided tours will allow people to enter exclusively in the refrigeration cells IPOGEO of Melinda: 15km of galleries digged into the rocks of the Rio Grande quarry which are used nowadays to conserve the MELINDA apples...a world-wide occasion that should be visited by both experts and interested people.

The celebration also includes artistic and cultural initiatives. The village of Mollaro will host parades, bearers of the image of the Virgin Mary in processions and a photographic marathon: all of these will share the floral theme. At the same time, the old town centre will be showing itself in all its beauty thanks to the artistic/cultural walks organized by the association "Anastasia Val di Non", while the Mollaro Castle will be animated by the old crafts.
