Free admission to the METS, the "House of the people of Trentino"

On Sunday 5 February, as on every first Sunday of the month, you can visit the METS - Museo etnografico Trentino San Michele | Trentino Ethnographic Museum of San Michele, free of charge, from 10:00 to 18:00. Visitors can take advantage of free rich cultural opportunities to learn more about the ethnography of the Alpine region.
In addition to the rich ethnographic collections, new in these last few months is the room dedicated to the museum founder Joseph Šebesta. This new exhibition space dedicated to him is located at a nodal point of the museum experience. The cultural liveliness of the scholar is well represented by objects of his own creation.
A small but valuable exhibition tells of the ancient art of lace-making. "Te la do io la dote! Cembra 1962-2022. Una scuola di merletti in Trentino” ("I'll give you your dowry! Cembra 1962 - 2022. A lace school in Trentino") traces the history of the Trentino lace school, through the creations of particularly skilled craftswomen and evocative photographs kept by their students. On display in the rooms are precious laces that underline the skill of those who made them, but also the stories of those women, who of course, are intertwined with the events of the place and the village.
