After the great success during the last Christmas season, the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino offers free guided tours of the exhibition “The final year 1917 -1918” every last Sunday of the month, from January to May 2018

L'ULTIMO ANNO 1917 -1918 (THE FINAL YEAR) at Le Gallerie (Trentino history museum foundation, the Tunnels of Piedicastello - Trento)
An exhibition dedicated to the Great War on the Italian-Austrian front during its most critical and decisive moment. The last phase of the conflict as seen by its protagonists: soldiers and civilians. From one perspective, visitors "witness" the battles waged by men in uniform on the River Isonzo, the collapse of Caporetto and the shift from an offensive to a defensive war for the Italians.
From another, visitors can observe how the war treated and transformed civilians: refugees, militarised workers, victims, all subjects and objects of propaganda and authoritarian politics.
Along the 300 metres of the Black Tunnel, the final year of the First World War is reconstructed through installations, scenery, explanations, period films and documentaries.
