Boccanera Gallery, Trento, is pleased to present the exhibition Grenzländer - terre di confine with the artists Andrea Fontanari, Julia Frank, Veronica de Giovanelli, Federico Seppi.
Boccanera opens the season in Trento with a group show.

After the exhibitions dedicated to emerging Romanian artists in 2017, the young artists of the Czech Republic in 2016 and the young painters from Poland in 205, for the first time, the artists are from the territory where the gallery is based: the Trentino Alto Adige.
With the exhibition Grenzländer, Boccanera Gallery intends to strengthen its identity as a global gallery, remaining local.
The importance of supporting local artists is one of the peculiarities of Giorgia Lucchi Boccanera's research, and with this exhibition in collaboration with the curator Giovanna Nicoletti, draws a significant line for the situation of local emerging art, with works by artists in different stages of their careers.

The title Grenzländer refers to middle lands: distinct places where borders frame limited geographic and temporal areas. Natural and anthropological elements are connected in these territories. These are independent crossing points there to explore, to experience, and to feel the thrill of something that is about to happen.
In this exhibition Boccanera Gallery presents four young artists from the Trentino Alto Adige that, with slightly different languages, give a voice, or better, shape their thinking by challenging each others research.

Their works share the construction and precise stratification of signs and meanings in the representation of truth.
Andrea Fontanari uses painting to recreate spaces and biographical stories shown on canvas as emerging and ready to disappear in disenchantment. By actively involving the visitor, Julia Frank’s performances and installations create forms of reflection and transformation of places.

Veronica de Giovanelli tames the brushstrokes creating transparent veils where landscape’s memories transform themselves into the categorical perception of color.
Federico Seppi develops traces of space with the intention of moving the composition of matter. In his art practice, he shapes fragments of landscape seeking accordance in different forms.
The group shows Grenzländer aims to consolidate the Gallery’s mission supporting young Italian and local artists, along with the focus on young artists from Eastern Europe.
The exhibition’s season will start from the immediate geographical areas to open up overseas, by establishing a new chapter from East to West, at the beginning of the second decade of Boccanera Gallery.
