Cultural exhibitions and events , Guided tour

35 persons are admitted in each guided tour, booking required (tel. 0461 230171). Organization by “Servizi educativi” (office for educational activities) of the Archaeological Heritage Office of the Department for Cultural Heritage.

The guided tour starts from the Underground Archaeological Site SASS under piazza Cesare Battisti: this a striking, charming portion (1700 square metres) of Roman town, which has become the symbol of Tridentum. From here, following the ancient Roman road, the itinerary reaches the archaeological site of Palazzo Lodron, under piazza Lodron; here is the exhibition “Ostriche e vino. In cucina con gli antichi romani (Oysters and wine. In the kitchen with the Ancient Romans).

The guided tour ends in Palazzo Roccabruna, where archaeologists have brought to light relics from the first and second centuries A.D., when the urban development of the municipium of Tridentum topped out.

Later on, in the fourth and fifth centuries, a number of floods led people to abandon this area, so that the road was restored and a necropolis was built.

Participants are invited to taste local products at the special price of 5€
