Guided visit to the Geology museum of the Dolomites in Predazzo
Where rocks tell stories

Have you ever touched Dolomite? What does the fossil of an organism that lived millions of years ago look like? What are those shiny minerals you can find along the trails?
In the Geological Museum of the Dolomites in Predazzo in Val di Fiemme, rocks, minerals and fossils tell you stories and that are part of us and the landscape we inhabit.
Surrounded by the UNESCO World Heritage mountains, the museum houses over 12,000 exhibits, including the richest collection of invertebrate fossils from the Middle Triassic reefs in Italy.
Embark on a journey through the geological history of the Dolomites, between beauty and fragility, on the trail of what has linked us to these peaks for centuries, from the adventures of the first scientists, explorers and mountaineers at the beginning of the 19th century to today.
