Gypsy Trio
Andrea Sartori (guitar), Massimiliano Sartori (guitar) e Paolo Boninsegna (double bass)
Their music can be defined as swing manouche, gypsy jazz or Django’s Music and takes inspiration from the great guitarist and composer Django Reinhardt (1910-1953). Hungarian Czardas, classics of jazz music (Cole Porter, Duke Ellington), „ever green“ pop music and many Django's compositions are part of the repertoire.
Aim of the project is to make people know this elegant way of playing the acoustic guitar and to spread the gypsy music also in Italy.
The Project Gypsy took part in important international festivals ( Fiemme Ski Jazz 2007 and 2008, Dolomiti Ski Jazz 2007, Valsugana Jazz Tour 2006-2007-2008-2010, International Festival Manouche Django Reinhardt of Torino 2008) as well as in many concerts. In October 2010 the CD „ESPRIT MANOUCHE", recorded with the new trio was launched and represents the new musical evolution of the group.
