National Days of the Ecclesiastical Museums

On the occasion of the National Day of the Ecclesiastical Museums, free admission to the Museo Diocesano Tridentino on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 October.

The National Day of the Ecclesiastical Museums has been conceived by the Associazione Musei Ecclesiastici Italiani (Amei) as an initiative to promote the knowledge of this category of museums.

Since the motto of this event is "If I exchange, I change", the Tridentine Diocesan Museum of Trento will carry out its exchange with the Islamic community: on Saturday 20 October the Imam of Trento Aboulkheir Breigheche will receive as a present a reproduction of a miniature of the ancient Atlantic Bible and of the page that contains a significant passage from the Gospel (Matthew 25.31), which will be commented by Father Marcello Farina.

In turn, Aboulkheir Breigheche will hand over the reproduction of a miniated page of the Koran to the museum director.

Guided tour of the exhibition Nostalghia. Journey among the Christians of the East.

An intense photographic exhibition meant to raise public awareness about issues that are not dealt with in the media.The photos on display are a testimony to almost three years of Linda Dorigo and Andrea Milluzzi’s journey among the Christian communities of nine states in the Middle East (Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Syria and Turkey).

The meeting, in collaboration with Trentino’s Forum for peace and human rights is part of the series of events approaching the 70th "birthday" of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which will be celebrated on 10 December. Film showing of the short film Al Sheikh Noel by director Saad Al-essamy (Iraq 2017, 21'): a moving black tale that tells the impetus and contradictions of the Iraqi territories already under the control of ISIS.

Event for families. Discovering the museum with a special proposal: our trainee Viviana, who's studying Cultural Heritage at university, invites families to discover the museum in an unusual way, her way. Families will be given a booklet reproducing some details she has chosen of some artworks on display. With your children you'll admire sculptures, fabrics and jewellery where these details are hidden. With Viviana's help you'll also learn interesting information about the works that have been spotted.

Io per te sono l'altro (For you, I’m the other)

"For you, I am the other" proposes an eccentric recount of the Museum's works. The theatrical action is inspired by some artworks on display that tell of journeys, of hospitality received or denied, of openness or distrust about the stranger, the others, the foreigner.
