Open Palazzos 2023
A journey into underground Roman Trento

The initiative promoted and coordinated by the Culture, Tourism and Youth Policies Service of the City of Trento is back again this year to unveil little-known aspects and treasures of its heritage of artistic and historical beauty.
This 19th edition will be held on 3-4 and 10-11 June 2023 with new exciting guided tours.
The Tridentine Diocesan Museum joins the initiative too: visitors will have the opportunity to visit the Porta Veronensis, the monumental entrance on the southern side of ancient Tridentum that provided access to the Roman city at the height of today's Civic Tower and Piazza Duomo, which can be accessed from the Museum.
Afterwards, it will be possible to visit the basement of Palazzo Tabarelli, where archaeological excavations have brought to light a well preserved to a depth of 3.30 metres, later covered and dating back to the 1st century B.C.- 1st century A.D., as well as the remains of a 300 square metre dwelling with an access corridor (fauces) and a red Trento stone floor, dating back to the 1st century A.D.
