Photography is 180 years old!
The illustrated book from engraving to digital / Italo Zannier, innocent photographer

In 2019 photography turned 180 years old. The Mart and the Comune di Ferrara pay homage to its long, fascinating history with a project realised thanks to the generous availability of Italo Zannier: intellectual, lecturer and photographer, the first holder of a professorship in History of photography in Italy, as well as a figure of reference for the recognition of the discipline in this country.
The exhibition investigates the two best known peculiarities of Professor Zannier: on the one hand, passionate researcher, on the other "innocent photographer", as he himself is fond of defining himself. In the exhibition, precious illustrated volumes from his personal archive to delineate the evolution of the reproduced image from its origins to the present day, and a core of approximately 100 photographic works demonstrating the practice of a great passion, from the 1950s to his most recent experiences.
In collaboration with Comune di Ferrara and Fondazione Ferrara Arte.
