Alcide De Gasperi's letters to his wife and family, written between March 1927 and October 1928, are close to our vision of love, to our weaknesses and fears and to our rebellion against injustice.

At the time De Gasperi was condemned to prison for four years by Fascism; these letters of his are a report of hard times, but at the same time they reveal the great statesman's belief in one's loyalties and smallest emotions, in God who can see and understand the sorrows of any upright person.
