Sonata Islands "Letter to Evans"

Bill Evans will always be remembered for expanding, more than anyone else, the expressive possibilities of piano in jazz and for having revolutionised the formula of the trio piano.

Evans left us a huge patrimony of very beautiful compositions, but even today, more than thirty years after his death, his music is very little played. That’s why the quartet Sonata Islands intends to fill this gap, at least in part, and their performance without piano will highlight the outstanding quality of Evans’ compositions.
