The ladies of the heights: stories of female mountaineers and their ventures

Meetings and conferences , Reading

"The ladies of the heights: stories of female mountaineers and their ventures" is a theatrical reading based on Chiara Todesco's book with sound suggestions performed live by the S. Ilario choir, with a repertoire dedicated to the mountain music tradition.

A story that aims to pay tribute to the history of women protagonists of great adventures, and to "open a way" to the dissemination of the contribution they have all made to national and world mountaineering.

Seven women - Henriette d’Angeville, Gertrude Bell, Mary Varale, Nini Pietrasanta, Renata Rossi and Serena Fait - have been chosen to represent a much larger number of female mountaineers who, from the end of the 19th century to the present day, have contributed to affirming the presence of women in a sport which has been considered by men and for men for a long time.

Organised by the municipality of Sant'Orsola Terme in collaboration with the municipalities of Palù del Fersina, Fierozzo, Frassilongo, Comunità di Valle Alta Valsugana Bersntol, and the of Valsugana Lagorai tourist board.

In case of bad weather the event will be held in the multi-purpose hall of Mala
