Meetings and conferences

During the meeting, the public will be presented with a Bronze Age sword, discovered by chance on Monte Baldo and dating back over 3,300 years. The presentation will include brief talks on local archaeology by the Director of the Department for Cultural Heritage of Trento Franco Marzatico, the Director of the Archaeological Heritage Office Franco Nicolis, Paolo Bellintani, archaeologist from the same Department, Marco Avanzini (Muse), Maurizio Battisti (City Museum Foundation of Rovereto), Paola Salzani (Department for Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Verona, Rovigo and Vicenza) and Mara Migliavacca (University of Verona).

The event aims to raise public awareness of the value of cultural heritage and to return to citizens an archaeological find that helps shed new light on the ancient history of the area. The sword will in fact enrich the permanent collection of Avio's Antiquarium, housed in the Palazzo del Vicariato.
