The museum and the city. Theme itineraries exploring Trento

The museum and the city. Theme itineraries exploring Trento is an initiative promoted by the Tridentine Diocesan Museum which intends to inform about the vital and multiform relation between the Museum and the city, between the heritage preserved in the rooms at Pretorio Palace and the history and art characterising the churches, squares, streets and palaces in Trento.
From 3 July, each meeting will be characterised by a different theme, developed through the combination of a guided tour at the museum – in contact with the works from the permanent collection – and a walk through the city, in the streets of its historical centre.

On the streets of Trento on the track of the Simonino (Simon of Trento) is a historical and artistic itinerary to visit the places which were the venue of the story of Simon of Trento. The itinerary starts from the exhibition Inventing the culprit dedicated to the 'case' of Simonino da Trento - a child presumed victim of Jewish ritual murder, venerated for centuries as an innocent 'martyr' - and curls through the streets of the historical town centre involving via del Simonino, the low relifes at Salvadori Palace, St Peter’s Church.
The itinerary will end in Vicolo dell'Adige, a place where a plaque affixed by the Municipality of Trento commemorates the story that sadly marked the relations with the Jewish Community.
