The places of the sacred. From the ancient parish church to the Archpriest's church
Guided tours from the Museum to the centre of Riva del Garda

"The Museum in the City", an itinerant guided tour from the Museum rooms to the historic centre of Riva del Garda, will accompany us this summer with one appointment per month until 29 October.
From 10.30 to 12.30, a special itinerary in stages will connect the MAG collections exhibited at the Museum of Riva del Garda to the monuments and points of interest of Riva. This city tour will focus each time on a particular historical period and the theme dealt with will make it possible to investigate the past of the town of Riva del Garda each time from a new and different perspective, guided by a museum guide.
Sunday 28 May:
The places of the sacred. From the ancient parish church to the Archpriest's church
In the picture gallery of the Museum of Riva del Garda there are some valuable works of art from the Archpriest's Church of Santa Maria Assunta, one of the most important and significant monuments of the entire Upper Garda area.
The church was built in 1728 on the site of the ancient parish church of Riva del Garda, documented as early as the beginning of the 12th century.
The itinerary links the history of some significant works of art in the museum with the context for which they were conceived, thus reconstructing the interesting events that determined the construction of the new building of worship.
