Who is Saint Lucy? Five senses involved to discover her story
Interactive show for children and their families

On Monday 12 December, the day before the anniversary of Saint Lucy, the Museo Diocesano Tridentino will open its doors to all the boys and girls who want to learn the history of the saint in a new and fun way.
In a charming and festive atmosphere, a funny storyteller will welcome the children and their families to the museum and accompany them on a journey involving the five senses: sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing to find out the story and traditions linked to this Saint.
In Trentino, as in other regions of Northern Italy, the feast of Saint Lucy it is particularly felt and awaited by children. Many sayings and traditions are linked to the saint, and they are all connected to winter coming. Saint Lucia is in fact the saint of light, destined to reassure that darkness will not prevail because the sun will soon roll out its rays on earth.
And this is why Saint Lucy is also patron saint of our eyesight. But who was Saint Lucy? Between history and legend, traditions and artistic representations, this event will let children listen to the story of the saint, touch a sculpture that depicts her in order to get to know her features, see a painting, smell some odors ... and enjoy a little sweet together.
In addition to stimulating the senses, the activity aims at promoting in children - while playing - the ability in recognizing the characters represented in the works of art, thanks to their attributes, the objects, people, plants and animals portrayed whicht recall episodes from the life and martyrdom of the saint.
