eTNo – Trentino Ethnography Festival
Fifth year - Popular traditions in comparison: the "pole of ethnography"

Ethnography is a difficult word, but it simply means "folk traditions and their study", and Trentino is leader in the field of this art. In fact, it can boast about one hundred small museums and its Museum of the habits and customs of the people of Trentino in San Michele all’Adige is going to celebrate its 50 years of activity.
As a result, this "pole of ethnography" proposes two days of events (at San Michele all'Adige): the "Ethnography Festival", also called “eTNo” , takes place in the courtyards and in the cloister of the old convent, featuring old music, dances and ancient instruments, figurative art, decorated eggs, antique prints, felt and velvet, cheese and cereals, cornmeal mush, cinemas, seeds, hemp and wool, antique varieties of wine and oil, syrups, minerals and vegetables, woods and meadows, cows and goats, bees, ointments and goblins, legends and games.
Every year all this is meant to know, to understand, and to discover once again the great cultural landscape of our valleys and of the people who live there.
