The exhibition “Adventure in the world of art”, dedicated to Mariano Fracalossi, multifaceted artist from Trentino (who died in 2004), will open on Friday 23 January at 18.00 in Palazzo Trentini, Trento.
Through this exhibition, the multifaceted personality of Mariano Fracalossi - a unique blend of painter, designer, set designer, but also pedagogue, popularizer, cultural entertainer -teaches us a new, unprecedented lesson on design and on the meaning of art.

On display are his en plein air sketches which he carried out in and out of Trentino in his early maturity.

An out-of-town excursion with one’s family, holidays, etc. were but an opportunity to look at new places from the painter’s perspective, or to capture familiar places by means of design.

Such places were either close – mountain landscapes -, or far from us – cities of art, marine landscapes – and let us perceive Fracalossi’s thirst for knowledge, which always let him grasp all nuances and peculiarities of the human dimension of landscape.

His experimental design and extemporaneous sketches seize a moment in a specific place by using simple materials: paper sheets, a ball-point pen, a pencil, or better a thick black marker to highlight lights and shades.

The exhibition, organized by “La Cerchia”, group of artists from Trentino, in collaboration with the Council of the Autonomous Province of Trento, can be visited until 7 March 2015.
