Appearances 2016

A series of events and art experiences in the urban and natural environment of Riva del Garda: music, theatre, dance, poetry, performances, installations taking place monthly from the 1^st May to the 11^th September, to meet beauty, art and performing arts.

Organised by the “Compagnia delle Nuvole” in collaboration with the municipality of Riva del Garda, the festival wants to offer amazing “appearances” in squares, parks and open spaces which will become theatre, stages and backdrops.

This year the guests of “Appearances 2016” will be the young and athletic dancers of the UCSB Dance Company of the university of Santa Barbara (Sunday, 1^st May in San Giuseppe Gallery) with an energetic and evocative medley, from the contemporary and modern dance to the 80s British punk scene; the theatre company CDM in Rovereto and the association “The empty moon” (Friday, 20^th May, at the church Miralago) with “ Le cadavre exquis” (the illustrious corpse), funny and surreal dark comedy; Eusebio Martinelli (Emilian trumpet virtuoso who worked together with Negramaro, Modena City Ramblers, Mau Mau and Vinicio Capossela) and his Gipsy Orkestar (Sunday 12^th June at Brolio park” with a passionate concert in the tradition of Balkan and Gitano music; Oscar De Summa (Thursday 14^th July at San Nicolò harbour) with “Stasera sono in vena” (Tonight I'm on top form), an extraordinary show (it has reached the final for the Ubu 2015 award as best Italian novelty and it's the winner of the Cassino Off award) in which the author narrates his adolescence in the 80s in Puglia, when the Sacra Corona Unita was established in a scenery of human distress. On Wednesday 17^th August at Fraglia della Vela there will be the “Poetry Slam Appearances”, in which poets compete by reading their compositions on the stage: a mixture of sports and performance with the best poet-performers in northern Italy (the event is part of the LIPS championship of Trentino, for candidacy facebook.com/compagnia.dellenuvole). The final event is the traditional “Here's a party”, a big party with a lot of music, on Sunday 11^th September in the church and park Miralago.
