Arte Sella 2016
Between excitement and reflection, a richer and richer pairing of nature and art
In 2016 Arte Sella celebrates its 30th birthday. In this important anniversary the artistic research of the last years is reaffirmed. Meanwhile, Arte Sella has an increasing interest for local, national and international relations.
In particular, the networks in which Arte Sella is in the front line are reinforced: Elan (European Land Art Network) and Grandi Giardini Italiani (Great Italian Gardens). In addition, the collaboration with the project Gothenburg Green World 2016 seems to become real and on the 2nd July there will be the opening of the project Art in Nature in the city of Gothenburg.
As for the cultural and artistic proposal there will be the realisation of new installations by artists from all over the world and collaborations with people who have followed Arte Sella over time in order to increase its quality.
A new educative and formative itinerary entitled Arte Sella Education takes shape: it's a cultural platform where different experiences merge and are compared within a perspective of participatory education, which means that the public is subject but also protagonist of the events. The first project concerning this itinerary will be proposed in autumn: it's Handling with Care, in collaboration with the Autonomous Province of Trento, an itinerary of workshops dedicated to health care professionals.
During the first months of 2016 the Project Dance of Arte Sella took part in events and meetings at the Musée du Louvre in Paris and at the Gemäldegalerie der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna. On the 15th and 16th August the Area of Malga Costa will be enlivened for two evenings with the project “All Ways” by the contemporary dance company Sharon Fridman.
In September the project Cycling Dance will continue for the third consecutive year along the cycling path of Valsugana: the path which follows the river Brenta and connects lake Levico and Caldonazzo with Bassano del Grappa will be animated by performances of contemporary dance for six hours.
With regard to the music, the director Mario Brunello proposes the “fucine”, musical workshops which have created a little festival in the big one for eleven years, following the colours of the seasons. Each “fucina”is associated with a precise feature.
The philosophy of Arte Sella is based on the fact that since the works have been created in this place, there they should stay. For such reason the itinerary around Schubert's works is maintained and a new festival, entitled “Vivaldi Sella” and occurring once a year, should be launched.
Arte Sella will host a special project with the involvement of three regions - Trentino Alto-Adige, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto and three cultural realities in addition to Arte Sella, Mittelfest and OperaEstate Festival Veneto - concerning the work of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. During the event, the orchestra Spira Mirabilis will support the Children's Choir of the Music School of Fiesole, with the direction of Piera Mungiguerra.
