Folk routes 2017

As usual, the festival is an opportunity to wander at every latitude and to appreciate new spaces of creativity, innovative tendencies and new projects that bring together modern aesthetics and elements from our past, memory and traditions.

Popular rhythms, dances, ancestral traditions and urban sounds, composition music, or music from ritual contexts, are all elements characterising the concerts this year. The concerts programme focuses on the female figure, that is on the stories and peculiar artistic perception that women express nowadays in different parts of the world.

The voice will have a predominant role and in this sense also the sound variety of languages: from Africa to Sardinia, from ancient Gaelic idioms to Slavic languages, from Tibet to French-speaking Canada, from Veneto to Piedmont.
