The fascinating exposition dedicated to Federico Vender’s work features remarkable photographs portraying “Paper celebrities”, cover faces, willowy bodies and haute couture creations, actors but most of all actresses. Federico Vender (1901-1999) was a great international photographer who, in the Fifties, attained professional status by debuting as photography director in the first sparkling season of Photo Comics.
A series of talks and guided tours of the exhibition, with the authors of the exposition catalogue, offer an engaging way to explore the different research perspectives. In the age of the selfie, this exhibition and its related events let us discover the Historic Photographic Archive of the Cultural Heritage Directorate in an original way, through the fil rouge of the perfect and fictional world of the set, between artistic research and popular culture.
