Oyster and wine: in the kitchen with the Ancient Romans
A series of meetings featuring the food culture in ancient times
What did our ancestors eat in prehistoric times? Is there a continuity between ancient and current history of nutrition? How did the relevance of food and the associated traditions evolve over the centuries?
These are the central topics of a series of three meetings related to the exhibition: “Oyster and wine: in the kitchen with the Ancient Romans”. The meetings, organized by the Archaeological Heritage Office of the Cultural Heritage Directorate of the Autonomous Province of Trento, are scheduled on the 14th April, the 11th and the 26th May at the S.A.S.S., the underground archeological area of the Sas, in Trento, under Piazza Cesare Battisti.

Thursday 14th April at 17.30 - “As sweet as honey. Bee products in ancient times”
Wednesday 11th May at 17.30 - “The wine culture: encounters and clashes of civilizations”
Thursday 26th May at 17.30 - “Specialities of Trentino. Cereals, legumes and fruit on the ancient banks of the Adige river”
