The MAG Alto Garda Museum as we never saw
Three new items from the Museum's storerooms for three lectures online
A historical dress, an archive photo and a seemingly ancient Egyptian-style find.
Coming from very different historical contexts, they have something in common: they are kept in the Museum's storerooms.
It is precisely in the storerooms and archives that the research activities start: in fact the Museum is engaged in them to enhance its historical and artistic heritage, often in collaboration with other cultural bodies and institutes.
The territorial and local identity of the Museo Alto Garda, which was initially created as a civic museum, makes the storerooms particularly interesting and varied. Its items range from art to history, from archaeology to geology and anthropology. They recount in different ways the past of the Upper Garda area; in many cases they were donated to the museum by the citizens themselves.
This is why the MAG wants to dedicate three lectures to three different items that have never been presented before or exhibited in the museum's halls. They'll be a starting point to reveal something more about the history, art and archaeology collections kept in the museum's storerooms.
