Utopia500 – Looking for a fairer society
Utopia500 – Looking for a fairer society is a project by the publishing house Il Margine and by the Autonomous Province of Trento, which involves different cultural institutions of Trentino, among which the Science Museum MUSE.
The starting point for this initiative is the 500th anniversary of the publication of Utopia by Thomas Moore. Il Margine – first Italian publisher – has faced the challenge of a new edition of the work, with the translation from Latin by Lia Guardini and an introduction by Francesco Ghia, philosophy professor at the University of Trento.
Starting from Moore's masterpiece, Trentino will feature lessons, conferences and talks throughout year 2016, but also theatrical shows, musical performances, workshops for schools and events such as collective readings of Utopia.
The initiative is meant to encourage anybody, especially young people, to plan a better future for our world.
