Kamaal Williams Ensemble

The young man behind the pseudonym Henry Wu is Kamaal Williams, a British electronica artist with a deep love of jazz.

He created quite a splash on the UK jazz scene in 2016 with the duo project Yussef Kamaal. They landed Jazz FM’s award for the Breakthrough Act of the Year, sold out big concert venues, and reached listeners quite far removed from core jazz audiences. But then they broke up almost just as quickly as they had emerged.

Fortunately the spirit of the Yussef Kamaal project’s music lives on, as Kamaal Williams continues to pursue his own vision of jazz while securing bookings in both jazz clubs and at electronica festivals.
