MUSE

10 years and 10,000 thanks

[ MUSE Museo delle Scienze]

A birthday party with more than 10,000 people.

A contagious affection that on Saturday 22 July embraced the museum and the Albere district from the early hours of the morning: the halls, with free admission from 10.00 to 22.00, were explored by 4,865 people, to which must be added the 707 visitors who passed through the doors of the nearby Palazzo delle Albere, where the exhibition 'Anima Mundi. La Giostra della vita | Anima Mundi. The Carousel of Life ' is open, conceived by the MUSE president, Stefano Zecchi. The evening programme, including scientific talks, theatrical and videomapping performances, the Colla Zio concert, and the final DJ set, also attracted large attendance until late into the night, registering a total of over 10,000 admissions throughout the day. This was the event with the highest attendance, second only to the museum inauguration in 2013.

The thanks on behalf of the Board of Directors, the management and all the museum staff (more than 120 MUSE staff members who took turns from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. and 40 volunteers) go to all the people who celebrated this anniversary with us, to the administrations, bodies and sponsors who have accompanied us over these 10 years and who collaborated in the success of this celebration.

But, as director Michele Lanzinger also mentioned, our most heartfelt thanks go to all of you for the media attention you have given us over the past few weeks.

Here you will find a gallery  with the most beautiful photos of the festival (downloadable in hd, credits: Archivio MUSE - Museo delle Scienze) and a video selection  of the evening programme, you will no doubt appreciate.

UPCOMING INITIATIVES 2023

The museum's 10th anniversary initiatives do not stop on 22 July, but continue throughout the year. In fact, the autumn programme is already taking shape: from the return of the Researchers' Night (29 September) to the unprecedented "MUSE all nighter" party (31 October), an entire night of activities, shows and scientific experiments on the scariest day of the year.

As far as exhibitions are concerned, expectations are high for 'Shamans. Communicating with the invisible", at Palazzo delle Albere from 24 November 2023 to 30 June 2024 in collaboration with Mart, Mets and the Sergio Poggianella Foundation. Also coming in winter is "Quanto", a journey to the border between perceived reality and the microscopic world.
