The Rhaetian Museum and the Fiavè Pile Dwelling Museum reopen to the public on Saturday 4 March

Free admission and guided visits on Sunday 5 March 

After the winter break, the Museo Retico (Rhaetian Museum) - Centre for the archaeology and ancient history of the Val di Non in Sanzeno, and the Museo delle Palafitte (Pile Dwelling Museum) in Fiavé reopen to the public on Saturday 4 March. The museums, managed by the Archaeological Heritage Office of the Department for Cultural Heritage, can be visited on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: the Rhaetian Museum from 14.00 to 18.00, while the Pile-Dwelling Museum of Fiavé from 13.00 to 18.00.

On Sunday 5 March, on the occasion of the Domenica al museo | Sunday at the Museum initiative, both museums and the TRIDENTVM S.A.S.S. - Spazio Archeologico Sotterraneo del Sas | Sas Underground Archaeological Space offer free admission and free guided tours, curated by the Museum’s office for educational activities.

On the other hand, the Archaeological Park "Archeo Natura" of Fiavé will open on 1 April.

Here are the special events taking place on Sunday 5 March, at 14.30 and at 16.00: 

- the Museo Retico proposes I Reti e le antiche genti della Val di Non | The Raeti and the ancient people of the Val di Non. Accompanied by an archaeologist, through an evocative journey into the well of time, you'll discover many interesting facts about the Raeti; they were population that inhabited the valley in the Iron Age, until the advent of the Romans.

- the Museo delle Palafitte proposes Avete detto palafitte? | Did you say pile dwellings? a guided tour with theatrical performance to discover the daily life of the inhabitants of the pile-dwelling village of Fiavé. It stood on the shores of the ancient Lake Carera 3,500 years ago, and is now a peat bog. 

- the Spazio Archeologico Sotterraneo del Sas, in Trento in piazza Cesare Battisti, proposes the guided visit Alla scoperta di Tridentum | Discovering Tridentum. In addition to the visit to the two thousand year old Roman city, two exhibitions are included (on display in the venue): La memoria nel ghiaccio. Archeologia della Grande Guerra a Punta Linke | History in the ice. Archaeology of the Great War at Punta Linke and Ostriche e vino. In cucina con gli antichi romani | Oysters and wine. Cooking and the ancient Romans.
