Tridentine Diocesan Museum x Google Arts & Culture

The Tridentine Diocesan Museum joins Google Arts & Culture, the technological platform developed by Google to promote and preserve culture online, with a Digital Collection of more than 170 works.
Among the institutional tasks of the Tridentine Diocesan Museum is the promotion and enhancement of the museum, and a priority objective is to break down physical and cognitive barriers to ensure better usability of the collections preserved in them, also making use of advanced media technologies such as existing web platforms, specifically Google Arts & Culture.

Thanks to the Google Arts & Culture project, the Museo Diocesano Tridentino is now just a mouse click away: the works shared on the page are some of the most representative of the museum's collection and itinerary. Among the highlights:
● General Congregation of the Council of Trent by Elia Naurizio;
● Saint Clare by Giovan Battista Moroni;
● The Tapestry Cycle of the Passion of Christ by Pieter van Edinghen, known as van Aelst;
● Red Planet in brocaded damask of Italian manufacture;
● Movable leaf polyptych by Bottega trentina.
Stories have also been created to explore some of the Museum's main themes, such as The Council of Trent and St. Vigilius, some particular sections, such as Wooden Sculpture and The Cathedral Treasure, and a focus on Van Aelst's Tapestry Cycle.
The Tridentine Diocesan Museum and Google invite users to enjoy an interactive, dynamic and immersive experience to discover the most significant works in the museum collection.
