Border stories at the centre of history
Meeting with Hervé Barmasse, one of the leading climbers at European level, the fourth generation of mountaineers in the Barmasse family.
He has climbed many mountains around the world, from the Alps to Pakistan and Patagonia.
Through films and spectacular images, Hervé will tell us about his life experiences, his adventures in the mountains of the world, the challenge to the impossible and to what is behind mountaineering, where the courage of decisions is always entwined with man’s fragility and fear.
On the face of a mountain, as in life. “Mountains are not conquered, they decide to let themselves be known,climbed or crossed; alone, in a roped party, via a new route or in winter, because they need the company of man. And if you are sensitive and lucky enough, perhaps they will steal something from you; time, dreams or your heart, to then reward you with great emotions."
The event also proposes a parallel offer for children: they will explore adults’ borders through their own eyes and sensitivity.
Through workshops, tales and activities, they will achieve – step by step - a great collective artwork.
The events “The children’s August” are meant for children over 6 years of age and at the same time they allow adults to take part in the scheduled events.
