In the conference “Mathematical writers”, Claudio Bartocci (University of Genoa) will deal with the relationships between the worlds portrayed in literature, and those portrayed in mathematics. He will focus on the analogies between abstraction by scientists, and fiction in literature; he’ll analyse the instruments we need to explore reality, to improve our intellect, and to free our fantasy.
